This unique travel style offers the perfect blend of activity and relaxation. The primary advantage is the convenience of unpacking only once; your cabin becomes your home base for the entire trip. This leaves you free to focus on the daily discoveries. It's an ideal formula for those who want an active holiday without the logistical challenges of a point-to-point journey, combining daily exploration with the comfort of a floating hotel. If you ever feel like taking a day off from cycling, you can simply relax on deck and enjoy the scenery from the water.
Your vessel serves as your accommodation, restaurant, and transport all in one. After a hearty breakfast, you'll disembark with your bike for the day's ride. You can choose to cycle with a group or explore at your own pace on our self-guided routes. At the end of your ride, the boat will be waiting for you at the next port. This format provides a perfect balance of independence and support, allowing you to enjoy a serene, all-inclusive holiday organized by our expert teams.
Grand Angle has curated exceptional itineraries that showcase the best of Europe's waterways. Each destination offers a unique perspective from both land and water.
The ideal season for our bike and boat tours is typically from spring through early autumn. In Holland, April and May offer the spectacular sight of tulip fields in bloom, while summer provides pleasant cycling weather. For the Danube, May to September offers warm temperatures and long daylight hours, perfect for enjoying both the cycling routes and the deck of your boat.
Our trips are designed to be accessible to most active travelers and regular cyclists. The terrain is generally flat, especially in Holland and along the Danube cycle path, making it suitable for all fitness levels. If you're unsure about your fitness, e-bikes are available to provide an extra boost. Before you leave, be sure to consult our handy bike trip packing guide to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable journey.
Travelers who enjoy the blend of activity and comfort on our bike and boat tours often explore our other cycling destinations. Consider a classic land-based journey along the Danube from Passau to Vienna, or discover the vineyards of Burgundy by bike. For those who love exploring beautiful European landscapes, our full range of self-guided bike tours in Europe offers countless possibilities. And if you're drawn to Europe's majestic mountains, an Alps hiking tour could be your next great adventure.

— The gloomy weather was certainly a factor, but Grand Angle is obviously not to blame. The condition of the boat is a very negative point. On the other hand, the crew was great and the two guides (dedicated and very attentive) were excellent, especially Dionysios, who was very enthusiastic.
Daniel 6/23/26 • Southern Holland by Bike and Boat
— A wonderful itinerary, with beautiful scenery along the canals—including windmills—and, above all, the tulip fields and Keukenhof Park. The fact that we all gathered on the boat every evening made the trip even more comfortable.

Michèle Loïck 12/27/25 • The Danube from Passau to Budapest, aboard the MS Primadonna
— Overall, a very pleasant, well-organized cruise. Unfortunately, as far as the environment was concerned, we saw the extensive damage caused by the floods 3/4 weeks before our stay. On the other hand, the bike tours were too short for our taste (short distances), and as a result we saw very few small villages (night sailing). It's a pity that not all the explanations on the daily tours were translated into French...
