Explore each stop at a leisurely pace, taking in the stunning Mediterranean landscape along scenic hiking trails. Wander through traditional whitewashed villages and past historic monasteries with their iconic blue domes.
Relish the pristine sandy beaches and secluded coves, perfect for swimming and sunbathing breaks during your hikes. This itinerary is designed for those who wish to savor the good life, embracing Greece’s laid-back culture and delectable cuisine. Enjoy meals on tavern terraces, sip on ouzo, taste fresh feta cheese, and soak in the genuine hospitality of the locals.
The Western Cyclades offer one of the most unique changes of scenery of all the islands in the Aegean Sea. Made for hikers, Sifnos boasts a superb wealth of natural beauty, taking advantage of the diversity of its soils to create an island that is greener than its neighbours, with cultivated valleys winding between imposing peaks. Sifnos is a charming island where time seems to stand still. The volcanic islands of Milos and Kimolos have very different faces to Sifnos. The coastal paths of Milos are dazzling, moving between unusual volcanic strata and sedimentary rocks. Finally, a walk along the discreet Kimolos will take you into forgotten valleys and along a coastline where the beaches envoke a deep desire to swim against a backdrop of mountains of authentic beauty.
Indulge in the beauty of Greece and discover just how wonderful life can be in the Cyclades!

From Piraeus, we take a ferry to Sifnos (about 2.5 hours). This is one of the most attractive islands in the Cyclades for hiking: magnificent itineraries link traditional villages to perched churches (Sifnos has 370 churches and chapels), high above superb coastal scenery. Settle in Kamares, opposite a pretty beach, for 4 nights. After a swim and a picnic on the beach, we set off on our first hike. Transfer to Kastro (approx. 15 minutes). From Kastro, a beautiful path takes us south to the village of Faros and its pretty harbour. Further on is the monastery of Panagia Chryssopigi, built on a spit of land jutting out into the sea. Transfer back to Kamares (approx. 20 minutes). Option to continue inland to Apollonia along the irrigation channels to the monastery of Vryssi and the village of Exampela, birthplace of the famous chef and cookery writer of the first half of the 20th century, Nikolaos Tselementes.

We continue along the coast to Kastro, the island's ancient, fortified capital overlooking the sea. Typical narrow streets crisscross the village, adding to the charm of this lovely town. A little further on, the sea reappears, but it's the colors of the volcanic rocks that really catch the eye. Also from here, our view of the small islet of Kitriani reveals a small chapel, the oldest on Sifnos! This beautiful stage ends at Platys Gialos with a pleasant descent offering a magnificent view of the bay. We'll take time to swim and enjoy this superb beach. You start this epic hike towards Chorio, the main town with its mills lined up on the Ksaplovouni ridge. Then we’ll hike by a beautiful path to reach the Skiadi rock, an amazing rocky mushroom formation sculpted by erosion, before reaching the seaside. Here we will walk from beach to beach where your desire to swim can be fulfilled at almost any point along the way. The return to Chorio is along stony paths in a beautiful, shaded valley, passing by several ruined hamlets. We’ll ferry back to Milos (about 20-30 minutes).

It is the client’s responsibility to arrive prepared with the items listed below to help insure a safe and enjoyable trip.
The following items are required for this trip unless otherwise noted. When packing, think layered clothing systems that work together and can be easily added or removed.
Important Note: Please, no cotton hiking/cycling clothes. Synthetic clothing is very efficient in drying quickly. Merino wool material clothing is also efficient in drying quickly, is comfortable to wear and has the advantage of not developing a bad odor after use.
After years of experience planning adventure travel around the world, we've learned that anything can happen, and every traveler should carry a basic personal first aid kit. We want to ensure our guests are well-prepared and make smart informed travel decisions. In many of the places we operate trips, it may be challenging to find certain medications and/or first aid supplies, and sometimes common items you desire may not be available in the destination you are travelling. That's why it's good to be prepared and carry a small supply of first aid supplies, any prescription medication, and/or over-the-counter medications you may require during your travels.
We recommend discussing your travel plans, vaccination requirements, and any medication usage with your primary healthcare provider before embarking on our trips. This helps ensure you have a safe and enjoyable travel experience.
During our “Guided” trips, our staff always have emergency equipment on hand to assist anyone in need, including our guests. This equipment includes communication devices and a comprehensive first aid kit with items we've found to be effective for the most common health issues we encounter.
Here is a basic list of what we think makes a good personal travel first aid kit:
PACKING FOR TRAVEL:
It is recommended that you prepare your items in the following manner for your travels to this trip.
“Carry-on Bag(s)” - This is the bag you will bring with you on the plane. We recommend all your pertinent information be in this bag (passport, travel documents, etc.) as well as your most important gear items (hiking footwear, jacket, prescription medication, etc.) in case any checked luggage items becomes lost or delayed.
“Checked Bag(s)” - This bag will be checked and contain the rest of your personal items (clothing and gear, etc.).
Important Note: Again, it is recommended to either wear or pack in your “Carry-on Bag” the main gear items you need for this trip vs. putting them in your checked “Travel Bag” (in case luggage is delayed). Hiking footwear is probably the hardest item to replace last minute if items become lost or delayed past the intended start date of the trip. Lost or delayed luggage has become more and more common in major airports for international travel since the global pandemic.
LUGGAGE MANAGEMENT DURING TRIP:
During this trip, the packing system needs to be in 2 bags.
Extra Luggage - “Checked Bag(s)” & ”Carry-on Bag(s)”: This bag will contain all the items you want to bring along on the trip. It will be transferred by vehicle for the most part*, and you will have access to it at the end of each day of activity, but not throughout the day.
Important Note: Guests will have to handle/manage all bags personally while boarding all ferries and from the port in Adamantas to the hotel and back in Milos (5 minutes, 350m/1148ft).
Day Backpack (not provided): All guests need a backpack, which they will be responsible for carrying during trip activities. Items in this bag should include anything you may need throughout the day during the trip. (i.e. rain gear, warm layers, water, sunscreen/lip balm, snacks/food, camera/phone, etc.).

Eastern European Time. Eastern European Time (EET) is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2). In the summer: Eastern European Summer Time (EEST)
The climate of the islands is Mediterranean, meaning hot and dry in summer and mild and rainy in winter, but with significant differences between regions and archipelagos. The Cyclades regularly suffer from a lack of rain, and during the summer season, which here lasts almost 6 months, there is little or no rainfall from late May to early October. The Cyclades also enjoy relatively cool summers (for Greece) thanks to the famous 'Meltem', a seasonal wind that pleasantly refreshes the atmosphere during the summer months, but which sometimes gets so strong that boats are immobilized in port for a few hours. Winter is generally very pleasant on the island. However, the rain may increase especially between December to February. The air temperature in winter varies on average between (10 and 15°C/50 and 59°F) and the water temperature between (14 and 18°C/57 and 64°F). In spring the weather is milder. The air temperature average varies between (15 and 25°C/59 and 77°F) and the water temperature between (16 and 22°C/61 and 72°F). In summer the sun is at its highest and the air temperature averages (20 and 33°C/68 and 91°F). The water temperature varies between (24 and 26°C/75 and 79°F) on average. Autumn is slightly milder than spring, with average high air temperatures ranging from (23°C/73°F) in September to (15°C/59°F) in November; the water remains warm in September and October (about 22 to 25°C/61 to 77°F).

Magnificent trip. Beautiful scenery. Good balance between hiking, swimming and resting. Mathieu is an excellent guide and a very nice person. Very professional and attentive. Sifnos and Kimolos are two very unspoilt and wild islands.
