Questions/Answers about traveling in the Vercors

All seasons are beautiful and worth a visit in the Vercors, each with its own advantages, depending on what you're looking for.

Spring: The perfect season to enjoy pleasant temperatures in the middle of the day, with wildlife on the loose and green meadows in bloom. Let yourself be tempted by a tour of the Vercors, a discovery of the Vercors on an electric mountain bike or its most beautiful cycling routes (VTC).

Summer: Located in a mid-mountain area with most of the territory above 1000m, summer is the ideal season to enjoy the long, cool days offered by the Vercors and its forests. Take the opportunity to go on an itinerant hike across the Hauts Plateaux du Vercors (as a family with a donkey, on your own or with a guide) or around Mont Aiguille.

Autumn: The season of colors, when trees and landscapes offer a visual palette that won't leave you bored! Despite cool temperatures at night, it's perfectly possible to go hiking or biking and find yourself in a t-shirt or light sweater in the middle of the day. The Tour des 4 montagnes in the Vercors offers colorful landscapes during this period.

Winter: Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or Nordic ski touring, there's something for everyone. With snow covering the entire massif from mid-December to the end of March, there's no shortage of possibilities. Take advantage of the comfort of our accommodation for a star-studded stay on the cross-country ski trails of Autrans-Méaudre, go snowshoeing in the Vercors in the forests or towards the crests, or try your hand at Nordic ski touring on the vastness of the Vercors High Plateaux.

The Vercors has many iconic places to visit on snowshoes, on foot or by bike. Here are just a few of them.

Among the natural wonders are the emblematic Vercors peak Mont Aiguille, nicknamed the limestone citadel. If you get the chance, don't miss the Grand Veymont, the massif's highest peak at 2341m, with its view over the crests, the Moucherotte or the Pic Saint Michel, with their plunging views over the Grenoble valley, or the Molière crests and its mountain pastures. The Hauts Plateaux du Vercors, described as a little Lapland, will immerse you in a unique atmosphere whatever the season, whether you're hiking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. On the “Tour du Vercors” hike, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Choranche caves and their underground lake, and a few kilometers further on, the hanging houses of Pont En Royans.
