The Danube River by Bike, a Grand Angle classic tour:
A Grand Angle's employee favorite, the Danube River by Bike is an itinerary which, in addition to being almost always flat, follows the meanders of this majestic river on the EuroVélo 6, Europe's most popular cycle route. It begins at the source of the Danube in the Black Forest and reaches the river's delta, which flows splendidly into the Black Sea. The route passes through a total of 10 countries, plunging you into the heart of European history. Along the way, you'll pass through superb landscapes of mid-mountain ranges, cliffs, gorges and riverbanks dotted with castles, abbeys, Gothic and Baroque cities and vineyards. The bike/boat trip from Passau to Budapest, the most romantic part of the tour, takes in the capital cities of Vienna and Bratislava.
Adventures on France's most iconic cycle routes:
What a joy it is to find yourself on France's cycle routes with your nose to the wind and perched on your bike! Between the Loire Valley by Bike, the Vélodyssée, the Vélomaritime and the Vélo Francette, the riches of France are immense. On the Loire à vélo, you'll discover the most beautiful châteaux of the kings of France: Chambord, Amboise, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Ussé... , along the wildest river in France. With the Vélodyssée, you can embark on an adventure along the Atlantic coastline! The 1200 km-long route runs from Roscoff to Hendaye, against a backdrop of the ocean and ever-changing landscapes. Voted France's best cycle route in 2017, the Vélo Francette invites you to enjoy a “slow tourism” experience. From Normandy to the Atlantic, via Angers, it crosses Norman Switzerland, Mayenne, the Loire Valley and its castles, as well as the Marais Poitevin to reach the ocean. Another superb cycle route, the Vélomaritime, or EuroVélo 4, takes you from Normandy to northern Brittany. As you pedal along, you'll explore the Cotentin peninsula, the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel and the sublime Côte de Granit Rose.
